Record types

DNS record types

A: IPv4 address of the server the domain points to.
AAAA: IPv6 address of the server.
CNAME: Alias: the domain points to another domain name.
MX: Mail servers that accept email for the domain.
NS: DNS servers serving the domain zone.
TXT: Text records: SPF, DKIM, DMARC, service verification.
CAA: Certificate authorities allowed to issue SSL for the domain.
SOA: Primary DNS server of the zone, admin contact and zone serial number.
